Smoke over the pacific due to the fires that are raging throughout San Diego County. We experienced record breaking temperatures and strong Santa Ana winds in recent days. These off-shore winds pushed the smoke towards the coast creating this effect. There are about 9 fires that are burning in San Diego. The first was a brushfire that started in the 4S Ranch area of Rancho Bernardo. A second fire consumed brush in the Santa Luz are and moved into Rancho Santa Fe. There were no injuries or property damages resulting from these two fires. Just when we thought we dodged a bullet, a fire broke out in the Carlsbad area the next morning. This one destroyed dozens of homes and is still threatening many more. All in all 9 fires are burning and arson is not ruled out. Today, (5/15/14) the temperatures have come down slightly and the winds have died down, which is a big help and a break for the fire fighters as they battle to contain these fires. A big thanks goes out to these brave men and women who kept many homes from burning down.
This is the spot that surfers call “Tables” in Cardiff by the Sea. There are many surf spots in San Diego. Every little section has it’s own name. Next to Tables, just to the left is Cardiff Reef.
I feel at peace when I take my nightly walks along the shore. Watching the sunset every night is something that I have become so accustomed to.
Every night is different, no sunset or waves are alike. I’m always at awe when I see God’s wonderful creation on display and I am longing for Him.
He softly speaks to me, “Don’t worry, I AM here. I Am Greater than your problems, I am Greater than your trials. I Am Greater than your weakness, I Am Greater than your….
He is Greater than I.
The bench at Seaside Park in Cardiff by the Sea is a little peace of heaven on earth. It’s sitting right on top of the beach overlooking the reef and Ocean. A great place to relax and watch the surfers and the waves.
I like to take pictures with my iPhone from time to time, because some of the camera and editing apps offer some really nice visual editing options.
I’m just posting a few, that were taken with the Camera Awesome app or the HDR Pro app. Editing was done with Snapseed and PhotoStudio.
I have seen people that are doing iPhone photography only, and they have some pretty amazing pictures.
La Jolla, is truly a beautiful town and one of my favorite places to take pictures. This is La Jolla Cove on a summer day. It gets busy at this side of town with many of the tourist enjoying the water, for sunbathing, swimming and snorkeling.
My preferred spot is anywhere south of the Children’s Pool, and Windansea. Less people and beautiful areas to relax and take pictures.
The Oceanside Harbor is located just north of San Diego. Many tourist and locals enjoy the scenic views and the Restaurants that are all along this beautiful place.

This is one of my first pictures I took back in 2012, when I started to fall in love with Photography. I took this shot south of the Children’s Pool, called by locals, the Lot. La Jolla has probably the most scenic areas to shoot sunsets or beach life in general.
I took this picture at the end of last year, as the storm was approaching the beach in Cardiff by the Sea. It was low tide and only one surfer went out for a session that evening.
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.” Psalm 19:1
The Sunset turned into an orange glow at Seaside Reef in Cardiff by the Sea tonight. Cardiff is in the North County of San Diego, known for some good surf and fun at the beach.
